Some pictures of trucks I have seen here in Kuwait

The word Trucks is almost synomynous with Kuwait after the discovery of oil in Kuwait the trucking industry became a thriving business.

Today there are more trucks per capita in Kuwait than any other country in the world just about.

you can still see trucks running that are as much as 40 & sometimes 50 years old on the vast highway system Although Kuwait is not a large country ( about the size of the state of New Jersey in area). And as much as 70% of its lands are still considered desert areas. Kuwait as of the middle of 2007 the population reached an estimated 3 million  there are 1.25  aproximatly million cars registered and close to 200,000 light to medium trucks and about 220,000 medium to heavy trucks  it is not real clear as to the statistics

Back in the 50s 60 and 70s there American trucks held about half of the market share now it is much less. this is due in part to the poor dependability of the hewer American trucks. here where the temps can reach 55 degrees c or about 130 degrees f and above the electronics in trucks suffer greatly. also all of the poor quality plastic used in the American trucks does not hold up well Don't get me wrong the European trucks are not without their faults as well the plastics in them don't hold up any better. and electronics have the same issues.

Another down fall to the American truck market is the lack of any cab forward or cab over engine models sepecially in the class 8 single axle and the classes 1 through 6

at any given minute of any day on every street you will see within the range of your vision dozens of the trucks we calll half lorries they are a cab forward class 1 through class 7 flat bed truck with folding sides

here are a few pictures I have taken of many diferent trucks around Kuwait some running and others not. I hope you enjoy.
